Catholic Healthcare recently held a commissioning ceremony and morning tea at Macquarie Park to welcome three new Trustees.The ceremony was celebrated by The Most Reverend Terry Brady, Auxiliary Bishop, Archdiocese of Sydney to welcome Greg Baynie, Patrick Cooper and Sr Therese Carroll who were elected as Trustees at the Catholic Healthcare AGM on 28 November 2019.
Sr.Therese is a Sister of St Joseph (SOSJ) and has a deep understanding of the Church’s mission in health and aged care. She has extensive experience as director, including Chair, in governance of not-for-profit Boards which includes many years in the aged and community care sector. She served as director of Catholic Health Australia Stewardship Board for 11 years, including Chair for three years and Chair of the Board’s aged care committee for a number of years. Sr Therese also previously served as the Director of Mission of Catholic Healthcare Limited.
Greg Baynie is a consulting academic with Australian Catholic University, working with trustees, directors and executive leaders in the Catholic Church and corporate sectors. His specialities include corporate and ecclesial governance and leadership, theology and canon law.
Greg is a former registered nurse and hospital and aged care executive, as well as canonical administrator for the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle and the Maronite Eparchy of Australia.
Patrick Cooper is the Financial Administrator for the Diocese of Bathurst. Prior to this he spent 15 years in senior management roles within the NSW Electricity Industry. Patrick is a Fellow, former NSW State Chairman, and National Board member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. His areas of expertise include Finance, Strategic Sourcing, Property Management, Fleet Management, Information Technology, and Organisational Strategy and Change Management.
