Some scammers have been stealing Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) payments from people entering residential aged care.
Please be cautious of unfamiliar emails, texts, or phone calls. Scammers may contact you to confirm bank details before making payments or to verify that a request is legitimate.
Please know that Catholic Healthcare will never request you to change bank account details and/or payment details.
Some of the warning signs to look out for are:
- The provider has provided new bank account details.
- Urgent payment is requested, or you are threatened with serious consequences.
- The email address doesn’t look quite right – the domain name doesn’t exactly match the provider’s company name.
