We are delighted that Holy Spirit Casula and MacKillop House Norwest have both been named as finalists in the prestigious Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Awards for Excellence, in the ‘aged care’ category.
The UDIA Awards for Excellence celebrate and showcase the industry’s best urban developments, across a number of different sectors and categories. The judges of the awards are highly -experienced industry leaders, with the overall judging process taking eight months from launch through to the completion of judging, with the judges visiting each site in person.
Being named as finalists confirms that our two newest Homes, Holy Spirit Casula and MacKillop House Norwest have truly excelled in their design, and appeal to older Australians seeking quality care.
Both Homes feature bright, airy rooms, multiple indoor and outdoor communal areas as well as cafes, salons, wellness centres and chapels. Each includes innovative engineering and environmental features including solar panels on the roofs, while sustainable gardening provides fresh herbs for the kitchen, offering a bespoke environment that is supportive of residents’ lifestyle and wellbeing.
“This is a proud moment for Catholic Healthcare as the homes were constructed and opened through the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” says Bruce Message, Interim General Manager of Property.
“Both homes are now approaching maximum occupancy, with residents enjoying the welcoming environment and sense of community fostered by considered architectural design and quality care from our dedicated teams.”
The winners will be announced at an official gala ceremony at The Star on Friday 12 August.
